Trip One:

A wild and windy day out on the bay today with an increasing wind seen throughout the day. We headed behind the Islands to allow us some protection from this wind and anchored just to the side of Geyser Rock. The visitors day patiently waited an hour for our first shark to appear, with a beautiful 3.5m animal gliding ino view The activity of this first shark seemed to draw more out of the depths and to the boat with another three sharks appearing within half and hour. Towards the send of this trip, as our third cage was enjoying their dive an absolute stunning female approximately 4.5m in length showed up and really caught everyones attention. We shared in some great excitement today with a proposal in the third cage, Congratulations and all the best for your future together!

Trip Two:

The second trip of the day launched and we headed straight back to the Islands to pick up the cage and continue where we left from the first tri. The sharks were around a little quicker than this morning with a large female we had not seen lately cruising in, she measured close to the size of the cage (4.5m) and had a very nice, distinctive notch in her dorsal fin. We also saw a brief visit from “Maureen” a large female tagged in 2012 by Ocearch, you can find more information and her previous movements here.

Both our trips today enjoyed a closer look at the Cape Fur seal colony on Gesyer Rock as we cruised through Shark Alley before heading back to land.
