Discovery Channel's Shark Week returns for the 31st time! More than 20 hours of shark programming are being aired from July 28 through August 4 2019. Marine Dynamics senior white shark biologist, Alison Towner, will feature in "Expedition Unknown: Megalodon" as well as in "Air Jaws Strikes Back".
On Saturday the 25th of November a deceased white shark was reported to the South African Shark Conservancy by Ichthyologist, Sarah Halse, from the Breede area. On Sunday the 26th, Dyer Island Conservation Trust’s white shark biologist, Alison Towner, retrieved the shark and brought it back to DICT’s Kleinbaai facility.

We are lucky enough to have many Great Whites visit our vessel whilst out on the water. Some of these individuals are easily identifiable due to scars, pigmentation, tags, notches in dorsal and caudal fins and also missing pieces from their fins. Some have earned names for such interesting, distinguishable features and have also been seen to have distinctive personality traits to match as well! It is my pleasure to introduce a few of our favourites…
