A bit of a wet and wild day out in the bay with struggles to see any sharks. A big thank you to all our wonderful guests for joining us.
Finally we were able to make it out to see today, after a massive cold front endured for a full seven days…
Despite some windy conditions we started Nelson Mandela’s birthday today on a special note, with our first sighting being two Southern Right whales…
Despite the cold weather today we had two very good trips with great shark action…
Today was one of those chilly days, where it would have been a bad idea to not to pack in an extra sweater! Despite the cold weather, we had great shark activity and our waiting time was only 10 min before the first three sharks were “knocking” on the cage. We also had one shark with a bit of a scar on the left of its face who was very content to just keep jumping all over the place! We had a sighting of the shark with the large prop scar again today; it’s still looking a bit fresh still. After some amazing shark acrobatics we had the treat of spotting a Southern Right Whale not too far from the boat! Always a treat to see these big animals…
Not only did we have great sharks around the boat today, but we also had some very nice bird sightings. I was able to capture a snap shot of a Shy Albatross making a pass by the cage! It seems everyone wants to have a look to see what we’re doing! I also need to mention Daniel who was a very brave 7 year old boy. Initially he was a bit nervous getting into the cage, but at the end of the dive it was a struggle getting him out. He was a true champ and did very well when the sharks were nice and close! Just goes to show that shark cage diving is open to those of all ages…
