We were back on the water today after 2 days off due to some not so cage dive friendly weather. We launched from Kleinbaai early this morning and headed into the Shallows, although we are now at a time of the year which we could be at our Winter diving area, the Island, yet we have had no real luck seeing sharks out there the last week so we are back in the Shallows whilst the sharks behaviour is good! The sharks proved to be a bit on the slower side this morning and whilst the first one arrived only 15 minutes after anchoring it took some time for the action to heat up. But once it did they had a great morning out on the water with the likes of “Vanessa”, a large female we haven’t seen in quite some weeks turn up again and turn out to be the largest shark of the day coming in at approximately 4.2m, thanks for saying hello again “Vanessa”! The visibility increased for the second trip helping the divers to see those sneaky sharks that were just outside the viewing range! We had no trouble this afternoon with two sharks spotted as we arrived back in the area and they just kept coming with activity continuous throughout this trip! We had many active juvenile White Sharks on this trip, displaying the amazing agility and speed that these creatures possess as they came in fast and turned right in front of the cage for a cruise by the awe-struck divers! We also had a Short-tailed stingray glide up from the depths showing those on board that the sharks are not the only impressive animals found in the waters of the bay. A fantastic day to be back on the water…
