The first trip of the day saw our boat, Slashfin leaving Kleinbaai Harbour at 9am and heading into the shallows to try our luck on finding some White sharks. Luck is exactly what we had when only 10 minutes after anchoring the first shark of the day appeared, an approximate 3.2m animal. It was some time after the first shark that the rest decided to join the party with “Thuli”, “Mini Nemo”, “Ingrid” and the large female with the white dot on her dorsal showing up. One of our previously tagged sharks stopped on by, “Anarchy”, a sub-adult female with a very distinguishable feature…she is missing the top of her tail. The second trip of the day was for two families from Texas who had seen the terrestrial predators already and wanted to see how the marine predators size up! The sharks didn’t dissapoint with “Thuli” yet again being one of the first to show up and stick around for the entire trip. The activity in the beginning was constant but nothing to exciting as the sharks circled around, however towards the end of the trip things heated up as the sharks came in closer and made some very nice leaps! A fin-tastic day out on the boat…
