A late start for our one and only trip today due to some strong winds around this morning. We headed out just after midday and were the only shark cage diving boat on the water today, no worries all the more sharks for us! We had a short wait of approximately 40 minutes before a dark shadow was spotted cruising off the front of the boat. This was a juvenile male with a distincive dorsal fin, easily identifiable by the notches (seen in pictures below). This male was active and immediately made a move on the baitline, and tried multiple times throughout the trip usually disappearing for a while before making his comeback! The second shark of the day arrived not too long after and was a tad bit smaller, on first sight it was not recognisable however once back on land and on closer inspection of the dorsal fin and scarring it was identified as one of our named sharks “Pieter”, another smaller male that makes up for his lack of size with some great behaviour. This shark has not been seen around Slashfin since May of this year, and as always it is fantastic to see one of our known sharks back in the bay…welcome back Pieter! The third and final shark was yet again another juvenile but this one was a female and one that visited us yesterday afternoon, easy to spot due to the numerous parasite patches she has. A terrific trip with some super sharks…
