This morning was one of those unfortunate and rare times that we experience what we would call a “miss trip”. This means that sadly no sharks were seen. This isn’t something that we happens often at Marine Dynamics, however we must remember that it is nature and wild animals we are dealing with and there is of course the chance that we may not see them. We would like to say a big thank you to all the guests who joined us this morning for such positive attitudes, whilst you may not have seen a White shark up close you made the best of the situation and enjoyed a beautiful morning out on the water! The second trip of the day launched in the afternoon with anxious vibes all around, would we see the sharks?…We arrived back in the shallows and patiently scanned the still surface of the water for any movement! Just as we were approaching the hour long waiting mark that big fish shadow was spotted off the back of Slashfin, a cry of relief and excitement was heard all over the boat! This shark was a juvenile female, quite pale in colour and very interested in our seal decoy which she kept approaching from underneath giving us all a lovely look at the name sake white underbelly. The second shark of the trip made its way in only five minutes after the first., this was a larger, darker male shark easily recognisable by a large rosie on the left side of the dorsal fin. Both these sharks spent the entire trip with us, taking it in turns to go cruising by. We also had a Short-tailed stingray join us for two very nice, slow passes. A beautiful day to spend out on the water…
