The first trip headed out this morning with a slightly cold breeze blowing, however soon the sun was out and shining to warm things up. Some times during the mornings it can take a while for the sharks to turn up however it was only a 20 minute wait for the first shark today. A highlight of this trip was the large male, approximately 4.2m in length with some very distinguishing scars on its head that looked like stripes. The cage that our divers use is 4.5m in length so this shark whilst impressive from the boat is absolutely massive when viewed at eye level in the water. We also witnessed the big male individual that we saw yesterday morning too, with an acoustic tag as well as the old attachment site for a satellite tag. The second trip of the day was just as successful as our first, throughout the morning trip the visibility could be seen to be getting better and better and by the afternoon we had some great summer conditions. Within moments of our divers suiting up we had our first shark arrive, the 4.2m male with the scars on its head, what a start to the trip! This trip saw some great continuous action, with most of the sharks being over the 3.5m size again today. On numerous occasions we had more than one shark within viewing distance of the cage, with the well known “Jacob” showing up and nearing leaping onto another shark. Another fantastic day out on Slashfin…
