The start of another month, we had a fantastic April with some jaw-some activity and impressive sized sharks showing up, its no wonder we head into May wondering what this new month would hold. This time last year we started to see a switch in dive areas and found ourselves moving to the Island by the 10th however at the moment the number of sharks and behaviour in the shallows is still great, yet this morning, just like yesterday morning the group had a bit of a wait. The first shark was sighted close to an hour and a half into the trip, patience is key and once that first shark arrived a number of others were close behind. This trip had a nice surprise in the form of a 4.6m sized individual, this is a creature the size of the cage and is a truly breathe taking sight to see! The afternoon trip saw their first shark as they arrived at our dive sight. A juvenile female with a white, healing scar on her dorsal fin, a shark we have been seeing for close to 2 weeks now and it seems she content to stick around and happened to be one of the more active sharks for this trip. Whilst the sharks were fast to arrive and happy to stick around this afternoon we did have a challenge present itself in the form of a large algae bloom that discoloured the water and made viewing once submerged a bit difficult, lucky the sharks came nice and close!Thank you to all that joined us at Marine Dynamics today, such a fantastic group and we truly appreciate your enthusiasm on board and interest in these magnificent creatures…
