Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 17.4’C
Depth: 10.6m
Visibility: 3m
Number of Sharks: 8+5
Conditions: Sunny and calm

Small swells and zero wind makes for beautifully calm waters to be cage diving in. We had fantastic activity from the sharks today, and everyone was in awe when our largest shark of the day equalled the size of our cage, a whopping 4.5m girthy shark that stayed just below the surface. We had what I’m counting as our youngest diver ever on board today, a woman who was 7 months pregnant with her first child. She even said she could feel a few kicks as the sharks swam by, just goes to show you can never be too young to have a passion for sharks! The gorgeously flat conditions allowed for us to see the numerous Southern Right whales swimming in the distance, and we were lucky enough to spot one a bit closer on the way back to the harbour. Never a bad day when you’re diving with the Great Whites and spotting whales in the distance…
