Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 13.6°C + 13.4
Depth: 9.2m + 10.1m
Visibility: 0.5m + 0.5m
Number of white sharks: 2 + 2
Conditions: Overcast with rain later in the day.

The weather didn’t cooperate very well today. We had overcast skies for the entire first trip with the rain coming in for the second. However, given the drought that South Africa has seen in the last year, we can’t really ever complain about rain. In fact, it really should be cause for a celebration. Shark activity today was a bit challenging. Although sharks did come to the boat, it was only for very quick passes before they were gone again. We had a number of the female Whites turn up to the boat briefly as well as a couple of Bronze Whalers cruising around the boat on occasion. We had wonderful guests on board who appreciated the chance for any interaction. We still must remember what a special treat it is to see a white shark at all.
