It was nice to be back on the boat after three no sea days! We launched quite early today, just before the sunrise. As the sun was about to rise we dropped our anchor in the shallows, the dive site for today. We had to wait for a little while before the first shark arrived, but within ten minutes we already spotted three different great white sharks. One of them was quite large with an estimated size of 4.5m. Towards the end of our trip ‘Rosie’ showed up and was entertaining us before heading back to the Kleinbaai harbour.
Today’s second trip was amazing- an exclusive charter with Glen and his colleagues from the UK fitness industry. After quite a wait a couple of 3-3.5m sharks started to circle us, one was a male with a curled tip to its dorsal another was our well known ‘Cutfin’. Finally Big Rosie showed up and stole the show giving our guests some amazing views as she gracefully glided by the cage!
By the third trip, the sea had picked up a little bit and the wind started to blow. Fortunately, we still had some lovely sharks that came to visit. Our third shark was by far the most entertaining. She made a lot of open mouth passes in front of the cage. She had very similar markings to a shark named “Jacob”. For awhile the crew thought it was him, but we quickly realized it was a female shark instead. Thanks to the large group from Mexico for braving waters that are much cooler than they were used to. We love how excited you were to see the sharks.
