Trip 1
We had the whole bay to ourselves today and all the sharks as well. We arrived infront of the Islands and whilst there was a bit swell and wind around today the conditions did not feel as bad as was originally predicted. Once on anchor we only had a ten minute wait for our first shark to arrive, a large male approximately 3.5m in length that proceeded to lunge out of the water for all to see, an impressive sight for people seeing White sharks for the first time! It was just when this male disappeared that the trip became dominated by the female White sharks with many of the current well known female sharks appearing, including two large females over the 4.0m length both with scarring infront of the dorsal fin, one healed one in the process. Due to the tide constraints the trip ended with a return to Gansbaai Harbour instead of Kleinbaai Harbour which sees us making the journey around Danger Point and into Walker Bay.

Trip 2
The second trip launched from Gansbaai and made its’ way back around the point and to the Geldsteen. Mimicking the first trip this one also had around a ten minute wait for the first shark, enough time for the divers to prepare both physically and mentally for what they were about to do. This trip saw many of the areas current juveniles appear with two 3.5m+ sharks showing up to show off the great size to which White sharks can grow to and above.

Trip 3
The third trip headed out to end our day of shark cage diving and hopefully with a bang! Straight after re-anchoring a first shark appeared, the same male from the first trip decided to pay us a visit again. We had a female similar in size around the boat as well however apart from these two larger animals the rest were juveniles which we were content with as they had such amazingly active behaviour. A small and feisty female that has been a regular occurance around Slashfin the last two weeks turned up and proved to our guests that sharks can infact fly in their own way as she proceeded to launch herself out of the water. A stunning trip to end such a great day.

A true Winters day out on sea with some of the seasons weather and water conditons but also sharks with the Winter behaviour we love so much!
