A lovely morning out on the water with sharks around the boat within ten minutes and what a start to the trip with the first four sharks being over 4.0m each including one of our favourites “Malcolm X” and a female , “Vindication”, that is part of a group of sharks tagged by Ocearch, however this sharks satellite tag has fallen off and whilst the marks from the tag have faded to the point of it being unnoticeable but for the distinctive natural pigmentation or rosie she has on both sides of her dorsal which is a tell-tale sign for those who know this shark! The red tide that we experienced yesterday had abated somewhat however we still had a challenge with the visibility. We launched for our second trip of the day and had the bay all to ourselves. The wind had picked up from this morning but nothing we couldn’t handle. The sharks appeared almost instantaneously, with an average sized male shark around the boat from the get go, closely followed by a large female with a white tip to her dorsal fin we are well acquainted with. The activity slowed down as we neared the end of our trip with only “Dolphin Fin” and a large female circling and reappearing every now and again before we headed back to land. Thank you to all those who joined us on Slashfin today…
