Number of Sharks: 6 + 7 + 6
Conditions: Perfect weather conditions, flat sea and beautiful sunshine with no cloud cover.

The first trip launched with perfect weather conditions from Kleinbaai harbour. The sharks did not keep us waiting long with the first arriving within five minutes of anchoring. This was an extremely active 3.1 metre female which was incredible for the clients to watch. The largest shark to show up was Scarlett, a magnificent 4.0 metre female who wowed the clients with her gracefulness and size. We were also incredibly lucky enough to see a shark breach fully out of the water ten metres from the boat which was a spectacular sight. As well as sharks we were also visited by several short- tail stingrays.

The second trip launched from Gansbaai harbour and had spectacular views around Danger Point on the way to our dive site. Amazingly, we also saw African penguins and Cape fur seals during our boat journey. Again the sharks did not keep us waiting long with the first arriving within five minutes of anchoring. Four of the sharks to visit us were recently tagged by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust. One of which was a massive 4.0 metres in length and was awesome to witness.

The final trip of the day still had perfect weather conditions, no swell and beautiful sunshine. We were lucky enough to be visited by a newly tagged 3.1 metre shark that was extremely active around the cage and exciting to see. We also had a visit from a majestic 4.0 metre female with a distinctive slash in her dorsal fin. Two recently adopted sharks “Sarko” and “3 Bird” also arrived at the boat in the final hour of the trip and their activeness was magnificent to watch.

A fantastic day enjoying the local wildlife.
