Location:
Shark Alley and Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 14.7’C + 14.9’C
Depth: 14.7m +10.3m
Visibility: 4.0m + 0.5m
Number of Sharks: 9 + 5
Conditions: Clear skies with decreasing winds and choppy swell.

We found ourselves back at sea today after two days off due to some not so nice weather conditions also known as large swells, strong winds and a bit of rain! The conditions this morning were still not the best so we headed to the Alley first as the Island provide some protection against the wind and swell. The are was calming than in the shallows and the visibility was great but the shark activity was not so after two hours of some light shark action we decided to brave the rougher seas and head into the shallows! This turned out to be a good idea with some of our current favourites there to greet us including “Little Lumpy”, “Mark”, “Thuli” and “Mini Nemo”. The second trip of the day was an exclusive for a family visiting from India. Luck was on our side with sharks around only moments after arriving back in the shallows. The first shark seen was a juvenile male known as “Sawyer”, yet this group had their hearts set on the “big” ones! Minutes later a female just under the 4.0m mark made her presence known with a quick sneak attempt on the decoy. We were also graced with a visit from “Little Lumpy” and “Mini Nemo”! Thank you to all those who joined us for a day with the White sharks…
