With white shark sightings over the last few days, we were keen to get out early and seek them out this morning. The first trip started with a couple of copper sharks gliding around the cage, they were super chill in the sunshine this morning. Our cage divers were very happy with how close the sharks got to the cage. We waited in keen anticipation for our white shark this morning, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. We had a quick tour to the island to check out the seals, and they were basking in the sunshine as we cruised down shark alley.

For our second trip of the day, we had copper sharks in the beginning and again our divers jumped straight in to check out these sharks from the water. While the coppers played around the boat we had our eyes further out on the water, as we detected the unmistakeable silhouette of the white shark. It turned out to be the same male from the other day, he was a bit shy on this trip with only a few passes and off he went.

For the third and final trip of the day he was a little more active chasing the decoy about and coming super close to the cage as well. After a slow start to the day it was a welcome relief to have a White shark around Slashfin, with the small male from the previous trip returning and this time making some amazingly close passes by the cage! Hopefully there are more to come, watch this space.
