We were back on the sea again after two days off due to some nastier sea conditions and whilst it had calmed down today there was still abit of motion in the ocean. We headed into the Shallows as the conditions this morning were not as bad here as say at the Island. Once on anchor it was apparent that visibility was going to be an issue but we wanted patiently to see if we could get a shark nice and close for our visitors to see. Cloe to 40 minutes after we arrived our first shark was spotted, slowly making its way closer and closer to us, the light, murky waters make it easier for those on board to see the dark shadow of the shark coming, so we enjoyed watching the shark cruise in from a distance. This was a female White shark approximately 3.0m in length that spent the entire trip coming and going, stealthly using the lack of clarity in water as a cover as she tried to sneak up on the bait and decoy line. Close to an hour and a half after the first shark came a second one, quite a bit larger than the first and this time it appeared to be a male, one we have seen in the area before with dark scars down the left side that appears to be a bite mark!

The second trip of the day launched and we headed straight back into the Shallows in the hope we could pick up exactly where we finished the last trip. However, the sharks had other plans in mind and whilst we waited cloe to an hour and a half no sharks were spotted and it was decided we would try the Island. Slashfin moved into position just to the back of Geyser rock and our first shark, a large, pale, male was spotted 20 minutes after we arrived. Things become abit slow for half an hour until more sharks arrived and the activity started to pick up. We had a lot of males around the boat this afternoon, many of which we had seen on previous trips over the last few weeks. With the sunseting we packed up and had a quick look at the Cape Fur seals before heading back to land!

Birthday wishes to Richard from Sydney Australia, who celebrated his 40th birthday on board Slashfin this morning and congratulations to the multiple newly wed couples who joined us today!
