Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 16.8°C + 16.6°C
Depth: 11.6m + 11.7m
Visibility: 2-3 m + 1 m
Number of Sharks: 13+ 11
Conditions: partly cloudy, little swell and south easterly wind

Although there was a little swell and a bit more wind then the last few days we had an amazing day at sea. On our first trip we were spoiled with 13 different great white sharks. We were once lucky again and had sharks straight away, we only waited for a few minutes to see the first great white shark. The shark activity was constantly good throughout the whole trip. Som of our diver went twice into the cage to have a close up experience with these amazing creatures.

The second trip was just as good as the first one, even the visibility was not as good. The sharks were just as active. They were coming close to the cage, but also showing us their teeth. On this trip we encountered 11 different sharks with the biggest of 3.8m in length. One of our tagged shark also showed up for a few minutes before it disappeared in the deep. Great sharks, great trip, great day.

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then Shark Diving in Gansbaai, and more specifically with Marine Dynamics, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss.
