Overcast skies met our group this morning as we headed out onto the water. Once in the Shallows we anchored and had our first shark nearly straight away, a medium sized female that we have seen around the boat in the last few weeks put on a fantastic show of activity for a few moments before gliding away. This left a bit of a wait for our next shark, however after re-anchoring the sharks showed their true colours with the arrival of Mark the shark who very quickly made a get away, the reason was revealed very soon when “Steamtrain” also known by the crew as Madam Speaker appeared! This shark is approximately 5.0m in length and this is the second day we have seen her, the largest shark we have seen around Slashfin in close to a year! Today she was just as active as yesterday, even a little more so as she bared her teeth multiple times and stuck with the boat the rest of the trip. We had some other fishy visitors to the boat in between the sightings of “Steamtrain” however after seeing this amazingly huge animal its hard to stop thinking about her, the other sharks suddenly appeared very much smaller than they originally looked. A perfect introduction to these magnificent creatures for our guests.

As this morning it was still overcast, but during our last cage the sun came out a bit. Shortly after arriving at Joubertsdam, our divesite, we had a shark. It was still a juvenile the little guy was just under three meters. It was a active shark going for the bate and showing us its sharp teeth. Also Rosie came by again today, she slowly passed the cage a few times before heding of for a mission. We were fortune to encounter Steamtrain again on our second trip as we saw her on the first one as well. As already mentioned she is a very big shark. All in all we had a good trip and amazing sharks.
