Conditions: Clear skies with a light Westerly wind.

We had a light Westerly wind this morning but apart from that the condition out in the bay were great for a day of cage diving! It appears that the sharks thought so as well with a 4.0m Great White sighted only a few minutes after arriving this morning. This shark didn’t stick around for long, but it was no need to worry as another individual came around in no time. This continued for most of the trip as new individuals continued to arrive quite frequently and the activity of these sharks really started to heat up especially with the arrival of “Ingrid” towards the end of the trip, who has a habit of chasing away the smaller sharks around the boat but thank fully she makes up for this with her feisty yet lovable behaviour! The afternoon trip launched and the excitement could be felt after the good news from the first trip, however we never know what we’re going to experience out there and the conditions can change quickly throughout the days but we had nothing to worry about except how quickly our divers could get into their wetsuits and into the cage with the sharks as we had three…yes, three, sharks around as soon as we arrived! This included the lovely “Rosie” who has lost her acoustic tag in the last few days yet is still easily identifiable due to the notches and pigmentation on her dorsal fin. This trip experienced the opposite to the first with the activity slowing down as the afternoon went on. This didn’t stop us from seeing a lot of sharks and some fantastic action throughout the trip. A wonderful day filled some wonderful sharks…
