How to survive Wednesdays? Go shark cage diving and spice up that midweek funk! We headed straight to the shallows this morning, and the visibility was astounding! For us in these waters it is a genuine treat to get beyond 1m visibility. Furthermore the sea was flat as a pancake this morning. With our guests gearing up into their suits we soon had our first shark around Slashfin. Once again our copper friends popped up to say hello to our cage divers this morning, joined soon after by the stingrays! Once again the water clarity was awesome to see these sharks and stingrays gliding gracefully around the boat. We even had a cape fur seal join us towards the end! This cheeky seal took it upon itself to not only chase some of the mullet at the back of Slashfin but even throw its weight around with the copper sharks. This morning’s trip can be summed up as Triple S cage diving; Sharks, Stingrays & Seals.
Our second trip saw us venture back to the clear waters of the shallows, where we were soon joined once again by the copper sharks. These guys were awesome once again, and our cage divers were treated to a beautiful spectacle as they glided through the water. With the sun coming to its peak on this trip, we can finally start to feel spring coming on. It was a stunningly warm trip and a great opportunity to get some fantastic underwater shots of the sharks today.
For the third and final trip, we were the only cage dive boat on the water, so were hopeful to conjure a white shark up. While we waited in anticipation, the copper sharks played around in the afternoon glow. We got straight in the cage and up close and personal with a few of these slender sharks. With their stunningly beautiful eyes it’s a real pleasure to have these sharks around the boat in the absence of the white sharks. All round today was as wonderful day on the water!
