Sightings: Great White Sharks, Bronze whalers and Short-tail stingray

The first day back on sea after a four day break due to some not so pleasant weather working through the area, the crew were keen, our guests were keen, and we hoped our sharks would be keen too. The morning started out beautifully with above water conditions great as the swell and wind stayed low and we enjoyed the nice weather and stunning sunrise on our way into the Shallows. Once anchored we had to practice much patience with a slow start as the Bronze whalers and Short-tail stingray appeared and disappeared not truely keeping us company continuously however we persisted and on our third anchor change for the morning we got lucky…very lucky! A small female White shark appeared from under the boat, if you blinked you would have missed her as she really kicked up things and kept coming. We were treated to some jaw-dropping passes and moves from this fast and furious female, with open mouth passes and above surface movements. This female was spotted for one day close to two weeks ago now and had been quite since, boy were we glad to see her still in the area.
The second trip of the day headed out onto some choppier conditions as the wind had started to pick up, but this did nothing to deter the crew and guests with the chance of seeing some more great shark activity stuck in their minds. Within moments of anchoring the presence of the little female was noted. This encounter was similar to earlier with just as much enthusiasm and energy seen from here for this trip, however she did go quite during this trip as the Bronze whalers made up for the times a Great White was not close. This afternoon also saw the re-appearance of Shaun the shark, a male approximately 3.3m in length and a consistant sighting over the last month in the area.
