Trip 1
Another Marine Dynamics day starting with a sunrise. We launched early from Kleinbaai and headed into the Shallows where we were met by the first shark of the day only five minutes after anchoring. This was a very active juvenile that was closely followed by a juvenile male we know quite well by the name of “Cutfin” due to the damage done to his dorsal fin. This morning was a trip made up of sightings of juvenile White sharks with the largest of the trip being “Cutfin” and a female similar in size by the name of “Mandy”.
Trip 2
The second trip launched and it appeared that the activity was slowing down a little. It was a half an hour wait till the first shark was spotted for this trip and yet again it was the little sharks that dominated with all individuals showing up being under the 3.0m legnth.
Trip 3
The third and final trip of the day launched and headed straight back to where our second trip finished. A small shark appeared and stuck around for the first and second cage before dissapearing on us. We decided to move anchor and had much more luck on the second site with a female approximately 3.4m in length turning up not too long after we re-anchored. More sharks were to follow with three other juveniles joining us this afternoon.
Thank you to all our visitors today for the patience they displayed with the sharks and also the underwater conditions that have deteriated with our move to our Summer dive area of the Shallows, we hope you all enjoyed your introduction to the White shark.
