Well our divers had a nice sleep in today with our one and only trip launching at 1pm today. We launched with fantastic conditions on the water with yet again minimal swell and little wind however the conditions under the water were adifferent story. We have seen cold water temperatures now for the last few days, and whilst we are seeing a slight increase the water is still on the chilly side, especially for those used to waters over the 20’C temperature. Not only is the water a bit cold we are still struggling with a decrease in visibility however it had improved a little from yeterday thank. Now this might sound all doom and gloom but the reason why our visitors find themselves at Marine Dynamics in Gansbaai is because they want to see a White shark and that is exactly what we saw a number of today. It was an hour wait for our first shark to show up, but it happened to be “Jacob”, one of the great male sharks in the bay at the moment. “Jacob” wasn’t up for sticking around and had a few passes for the first cage before moving along. We were also happy to see one of our recently tagged individuals and a few others that have been seen in the past few weeks around the boat. The award for most active Shark of the day goes to a large female, approximately 4.0m in length, that made some magnificent attempts on both the bait and decoy line! A nice afternoon spent with the sharks…
