As we headed out to sea it started to rain. Once we arrived at our dive site, the cage went into the water and our guests received their wetsuits. After a brief wait our guests were greeted by the our first sightings of the day: a few Copper sharks decided to come up for a visit. Our Copper sharks were incredibly entertaining, but because of the wind we slowly started to drag across the seafloor, hence why we quickly picked up the anchor and relocated. Once we had relocated, our divers were blessed by the magnificent sight of a Great White shark. A big female we know from the previous few days, White ‘n Bite, graced us with her presence. But soon she was joined by another big Great White. Despite the rain, it started to turn into an exciting trip… but the sharks were not finished yet. Clubtail, another big female decided to visit us. And the trip was topped up with a brief sighing of a tiny little White shark, bringing the count up to an amazing 4 White sharks. As Great White sharks are suspected to be born around 1m in length, our last Little white must not have been more than a few years old. While this is great news, it does show we need to take good care of the White sharks around South Africa, as we don’t see many small ones like these.

Our second trip of the day headed into some showers and a bit of swell, but this did not deter us from seeking out those sharks! And within minutes we had our first white shark! This first shark is known to us as white and bite a 4.0m female that we know from last year. She gave us splendid activity through the trip and was soon followed by Clubtail!! We saw Clubtail earlier this year in February, with the distinctive notch out of the tip of the caudal she is quite easy to recognise. Next up we had a 2.5m white shark that was very active towards the middle of the trip as well as Mini Nemo being his mischievous self! Add to that a couple of copper sharks and a short tailed stingray and we had ourselves a magnificent trip.
