Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, African penguins, Cape fur seals, Humpback Dolphins + Bryde’s whales
Summary: A bright and early departure from Kleinbaai Harbour towards our dive site in the Shallows. The first arrival of a Short-tail stingray at the vessel prompted guests to quickly change into their wetsuits, with Bronze whaler sharks arriving shortly after. Good visibility offered great sightings of the animals around the cage, including some fish species of mackerel, mullet and even silver bream. Returning to Gansbaai Harbour, a large raft of the endangered African penguins were sighted, as well as 2 active Bryde’s whales feeding on bait balls near Danger Point. A day of great wildlife interactions, For our second trip of the day we also enjoyed some incredible Shark and Short-tail Stingray sightings! On our way back to Kleinbaai harbor we had an lucky encounter with four Humpback dolphins! thank you to everyone who shared this adventure with us!
