To say the water was a bit chilly today would be an understatement, however, whilst the water’s surface temperature had cooled over night, we were lucky enough to be graced with amazingly clear visibility and fantastic shark action! Sharks were on the scene to the first trip within 20 minutes of anchoring. A large male, approximately 4m, was the show stopper of the day, taking large leaps clear out of the water! While our large male was jumping all over the place there was a juvenile shark that was content with cruising at surface level slowly past the cage and appeared to simply want to watch the divers just as much as the divers wanted to watch it! Our second trip started with a shark sighting straight away and they didn’t stop! Throughout this whole trip there was at least one shark within viewing distance of the boat. During one point five different sharks could be seen. Whilst many of the sharks from the first trip were present again, we did have a new addition in the form of recently named “Mad Max”, a juvenile we have seen before with a distinctive mark on its head that has somewhat of a “crazy” personality in which it enjoys getting nice and close to the boat and cage and always has its jaws agape! We headed into Shark Alley this afternoon to see how the seals at Geyser Rock were behaving. Much like the other day, the seals were sticking close to the edge, further implying that the winter hunting months are closing in! Here’s to a fantastic day on the water…
