We headed back onto the water today after a day off due to some strong westerly winds, not knowing what to expect we were greeted by some murkier waters with approximately 1.0m visibility luckily the sharks were up for some close interactions today! The morning trip had a wait of about 40 minutes before their first shark showed up, with a smaller, quite shy individual coming by followed shortly by a shark a little bigger but just as shy. Then after being lulled into a false sense of security up leapt “Little Lumpy”! This shark really has an ability to showcase the speed, agility and general power of the Great White Shark and is usually a crowd favourite. The trip continued with many juvenile individuals before the last shark of the trip glided by, measuring in at approximately 4.0m! The afternoon trip had a small individual waiting for us when we arrived at the dive site, so it was into those wetsuits and into the cage ASAP for our divers! This little Great White decided to get all shy on us and keep deep but within 20 minutes a 4.0m male came torpedoing into sight. This saw the beginning of some great action as new sharks continued to turn up for the rest of the trip, including “Alvin”, who has been in the bay since the beginning of 2015 and is always active and a great shark for those on board to meet. An awe-inspiring day out on the water…
