Location: Shark Alley
Water Temperature: 14.9’C
Depth: 10.5m
Visibility: 4.0m
Number of Sharks: 5
Conditions: Sunny with increasing winds and swell

We headed out early this morning in the hopes of beating some strong winds and swell that had been predicted for later on in the day. The beginning of the trip started nicely, with the sun shining and good conditions however, the wind and swell started to pick up halfway through the trip. Luckily these conditions did not affect our chances of seeing a Great White and we had five different individuals visiting Slashfin, our largest of the day sitting at 3.9m. The toothy visitors we had today were a tad on the shy side, with most passes seeing the shark keeping underneath the surface. Luckily, while the conditions above the water were deteriorating as the day progressed and the temperature has continued to drop as winter arrives, the water temperature has been keeping constant, averaging approximately 15’C over the past few weeks, our divers mentioned that it was quite pleasant in the water today! As we continue through winter we should see an increase in the water temperature as it is seen to be warmer in winter compared to summer. Very happy we could find a small window of good weather to introduce today’s divers to such a magnificent creature…
