What an absolutely beautiful day out on the water! Our first trip this morning saw some big sharks come to play, whilst they didn’t stick around for long they showed those on board the truly awe inspiring sizes these creatures can grow to. Once the big sharks had had their fun we were visited by a few juveniles interested in checking out what all the fuss was about. The afternoon trip saw exactly the same conditions with Winter seeming as if it is making way for Spring! For the past few weeks we have been warning divers about the lull in activity and that it might be a slow start to the trip, however I was proved wrong with our first shark for the afternoon spotted straight away, a small juvenile that we found to continuously dart between surface and depths disappearing from view before ascending back up. We had some great views of this shark before it finally disappeared into the depths. Soon after it look as if our first shark had come back, however whilst similar in size this was actually a different shark, one that we know quite well on the boat named “Little Lumpy”, and we are always pleased to have her around due to her feisty, active personality!”Little Lumpy” stuck with us for some time before the wind and currents caused us to swing around and lose our shark, however she returned to bid us goodbye as we headed to Shark Alley to have a look at Geyser Rock and its Cape Fur Seal inhabitants! We couldn’t have asked for a more stunning day out on the sea…
