Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 15.3oC
Depth: 12.3m
Visibility: 2m
Number of Sharks: 5+3
Conditions: Calm seas and clear skys throughout the day. Winds calm in the morning but picked up as the day went on.

Our first trip of the day launched from Gansbaai harbour, making its way to our dive site in the shallows. A bit of a wait for our sharks at first but we were rewarded by the appearence of our first shark of the day, a juvenile of around 2.5 meters who has been frequenting the boat recently. This shark hung around for a while but was later replaced by a larger shark (around 3.7 meters) who had some very interesting, and quite fresh looking wounds along her side, which looked like they could be bite marks from another shark! The second trip of the day left kleinbaai harbour just before one o’clock, and started similarly to the first, with a wait in the sun before our first shark arrived, a small, very scratched up juvinile who made afew lazy passes at the bait, before being chased off by a large female, who made consistent attempts on the bait and decoy lines, breaching the surface partially a number of times before giving up! Our guests on the second boat were also treated to the appearence of some Southern Right whales off the bow of slashfin, which we took a quick drive over to see at the end of the day. It just goes to show that you never know what’s gonna happen on our daily shark diving trips…
