This morning was all about those stingrays! We spent the first hour of our trip in the fresh morning air watching more than one Short-Tailed Stingray make their way up from the depths! Finally we had a shark brave enough to face the stingrays and make its way closer to the boat and in front of the cage. Majority of the sharks we saw this trip were larger (3.5-4.0m) males, some of whom we are familiar such as “Jacob”. The second trip launched and we yet again arrived to the sight of stingrays! Whilst these are great to see, they can interrupt the sharks behaviour and deter them from the boat. However, during a stingray break our first shark came into sight, a large male from our earlier trip. This individual was just the start to an array of individuals, some we had already seen today and also some new ones. Not only were the sharks and stingrays present, we also had a visitor to the boat on both trips in the form of a Cape Cormorant that landed on the boat and later on was nearly the lunch of a Great White Shark! Our third trip went out in a bit of rain but luckily it cleared up after a short ride out to the diving site! We had to wait a little bit for the sharks to show up, we had four different individuals, including a 4.1m male white shark very lucky to see that! Unfortunately did some big stingrays interfere with our sharks and it went a little quiet, but we got some awesome sightings of the amazing great white sharks…
