Conditions were in our favour this morning as we headed out for a day of shark cage diving! The sun was shining and seas were relatively calm at the Geldsteen, our dive site for today. The action started pretty much straight away with a large female being the first to show up. Today’s theme seemed to be that of big sharks, with five out of our six sharks this morning being over 3.8m in length. Happy birthday to Xanthe, a future Marine Biologist who decided that the best way to celebrate her birthday was to spend it with some of the most amazing creatures in the ocean! Due to low tides we headed around Danger Point to Gansbaai Harbour at the end of the trip. The ride home was eventful with two Humpback Whales frolicking together, a great way to end our morning trip! Our second trip of the day was an exclusive for the King family from Chicago. We swung by the Alley before heading to Geldsteen to see the Cape Fur Seals were we also saw a lone African Penguin in the water. Once at our dive site we had a slow start with one sub-adult female coming up every now and again however things started to heat up and we had a fantastic afternoon with some very large and active sharks! Some stunning action on the surrounding seas today…
