The conditions may have not been the best today for those above water but it didn’t faze those big fish that we had headed out to see at all! The first trip today saw the arrival of a juvenile shark approximately 30 minutes after arriving at the dive site, with 3 other juveniles to follow and two large sharks 4.0m or above in length. The afternoon witnessed similar conditions but had an increase in shark activity. Not ten minutes after anchoring and we had our first Great White on this trip, an unmarked and indistinctive juvenile followed quickly by one of our newly named stars “Ingrid”. This is a large active female who is always a pleasure to have around the boat, if we do see “Ingrid” the chances are high that she will stick around for the entire trip and most probable the entire day! She is easily recognisable by some scars on her snout and also some distinctive bumps, freckles and marks on her dorsal fin. Both trips today had other creature features, including the short-tailed stingray and a hagfish! Today is one of those days that shows Marine Dynamics is much more than just a shark cage diving boat…
