Trip Comments:
We were unsure what to expect on our only trip of the day as in previous days we had some what of a wait for sharks to arrive and being that we had a later start this morning it could have been a long day however never fear we had an astonishingly good day out on the water! We had been anchored and ready to go for close to 20 minutes when the first shark showed up, and it was a lovely 4.0m female with a very distinctive dorsal fin covered in notches most probably from another shark biting at her. This individual cruised around as the only White Shark for about 15 minutes before the others started to arrive including “Pieter” a playful juvenile male who was in the mood to wow and the largest shark of the day, an approximately 4.2m female with quite a infestation of parasites on her head and dorsal fin. We also had an interesting addition to the birds around the boat today with a Pintado Petrel spending the whole trip happily sitting on the surface of the water. The sharks weren’t the only site under the water either with the Short-tailed stingrays coming up for a look around. A fantastic day out on the water with the entire bay to ourselves…
