30/01/13  Trip 2
Location: Joubertsdam
Visibility: 5m
Water Temp: 12’C
Sharks Sighted: 9
Conditions: Flat Calm

News that the sharks had been slow came to us before we launched but there was hope that Slashfin had seen some good sharks just before they left. We were very lucky today!! We sighted our first shark in 5 minutes – Nico – a tagged male who’s swam from Dyer Island to St Lucia and Durban before returning to us earlier in January. Before long there were others, a small shark with a damaged tail tip, two medium sized sharks and then our first big one – Sharkius Maximus! This shark just looks bigger and bigger, we hadn’t seen her for a month or so but she made up for lost time! We also sighted Matilda and by the end of the trip there were sharks everywhere you looked!

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then Great White Shark Cage Diving in Gansbaai, and more specifically with Marine Dynamics, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss. Book online with us and get a free video of your encounter with the world’s apex predator.
