What a spectacular day filled with adventure and surprises. We had an early launch this morning in order to avoid the brunt of the wind that was scheduled for later in the day. I do enjoy seeing the sun rise when you are at sea, it is truly breathtaking. For our first trip we anchored in the Dam where we enjoyed a nice pod (approx 30) of Bottlenose Dolphins swimming past the boat. The visibility was quite nice and the sharks were even nicer, with the largest one sizing in at 3.6 meters. For our second trip we encountered a huge flock of Cape Cormorants just on our way to our dive site. Our second dive was based in Shark Alley in order to gain some shelter from the Island. Great visibility and little waiting time made for a great dive. We had a massive female that was about 4.7 meters in length and was tagged with a satellite transmitter. A great day out…
