Daily trip 24 December 2012 (Trip 1 & 3) | White Shark Diving Gansbaai

Location: Joubertsdam
Sea surface temperature: 14 Celcius
Wind direction: West
Visibility: 2.0m
Number of sharks: 5 and 7

Sometimes with shark cage diving all odds can be against us weather wise and this christmas eve was one of those days! However, we still managed to show our divers excellent shark sightings on both the morning and late afternoon trip. Matilda our 4.0m female white shark with an old acoustic tag made an appearance on both trips. This shark likes to pass very close to the cage, giving everyone a look at her impressive size. Another very active smaller female shark arrived on the afternoon trip and made some great passes by the cage, we decided to name her Penny after one of our on board guests from Boston in the USA. Our crew were all dressed in Santa hats to get into the festive spirit and a great day was had by all!
