Today was all about the adrenalin rush, as you couldn’t see those sharks coming until they were right in front of your face! Unfortunately we had some of the poorest visibility possible today, being around 0.5m at the best of times. Despite taking their time between sightings the sharks were being very friendly and giving the divers the up close, virtually belly rub, passes they needed to see them under the water. More than 50% of the sharks we saw today were large sub-adults and adults with five of them on each trip being around 4m or above, so there was plenty of shark for the full stretch of the cage to view! We also had our first Sub-Antarctic Skua of the 2014 season flying with us on the way back into the harbour, real evidence of the season changeover. Here’s hoping that tomorrow’s visibility will be on the better side…
