23/12/12 Trip1
Location: Joubertsdam
Visibility: 2m
Sharks Sighted: 7
Conditions: Calm

They say the harder you practice the luckier you get and that was very true for our sightings today. We took up spot in Joubertsdam and began chumming for white sharks. Conditions were flat calm with barley a breeze in the air and all was set for our sharks… only they didn’t come right away. Often in conditions like this you just need a bit of wind to help carry your chum through the reefs to bring the sharks to you and sure enough after a couple of hours the wind picked up and suddenly we had plenty of sharks around Slashfin. Pick of the bunch was a 3.5m female who ambushed the bait several times in succession but we were also lucky enough to sight one of the Joubertsdam giants towards the end of the trip – a female that must have been at least 4.5m in length.

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then Shark Diving in South Africa, and more specifically with Marine Dynamics, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss. Book online with us and get a free video of your encounter with the world’s apex predator.
