The day started off with some heavy fog and a chilly breeze but that soon lifted to give us a beautifully sunny, warm and flat day out there! The shark activity was dominated by our smaller juveniles again with most of them ranging in size between 2.5m and 3.2m. It was a 2.9m juvenile who was providing the majority of the passes, as she stayed with us throughout the full trip. All the divers on board today seemed in awe of how calm, docile and curious the sharks actually are, rather than the Hollywood version of Jaws that everyone always expects! It was a gorgeous day to end the trip in Shark Alley, with a look at the Cape Fur seals but to our surprise we were very lucky to spot a Bryde’s whale just behind Geyser Rock. The whale was being very relaxed, surfacing for us a handful of times so that everyone could grab a photo! Just goes to remind us, you never know what you’re going to find when out at sea…
