Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 21.5’C
Depth: 8.9m
Visibility: 2m
Number of Sharks: 11
Conditions: Overcast with drizzle

Despite the drizzle coming down, we couldn’t have asked for a better trip today! The majority of the 11 sharks we had swimming around our boat, turned up within the first 20minutes of the trip. The sharks were coming around so often for us it felt as if we didn’t have a spare second without a shark in view. This consistency meant that it was not uncommon for us to see three or four sharks swimming in our chum line all at the same time! “Alvin” provided the majority of the entertainment for us today with his jumps on both the bait and decoy, but “Little Roundy” joined in the action towards the end. We even had a large 4m male swimming around to demonstrate the impressive size these animals are capable of. With the abundance of sharks, warm waters and some of the best visibility we’ve had in while, today was a great day to be a cage diver…

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then Cage Diving in South Africa, and more specifically with Marine Dynamics, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss.
