11/01/13 Trip 3
Location: Joubertsdam
Visibility: 3-4m
Water Temp: 19.7’C
Sharks Sighted: 14
Conditions: Slight chop
Once again we did three trips, and once again (I have to try not to boast here) we had the best sharks on my trip!!! As we pulled up we saw 3 or 4 before any bait or decoys were in the water (the chum left in the cage between trips had kept them interested). Before long there were sharks left right and centre. At first they were all around 3 meters or so, fairly small for our current sightings but mostly sharks we recognised. Then the big sharks arrived – two of the massive males from before the storm arrived – the biggest around 4.5 meters in length! Finally another batch of sharks arrived all at once including a satellite tagged shark; with recent news of another of the select few white sharks carrying these tags was killed a day or two ago, it was great to see some of them are still going strong! This one’s named Luis Antonio and has been in the eastern end of the countries waters for most of the year.
