We heard rumours around the bay this morning that the sharks were being slow, but after numerous close passes and a full breach right in front of the cage, I’d beg to differ!  The size of the sharks giving us the most passes lately has been incredible! We had four sharks who are easily 4.0m and above, today’s record being taken by a 4.3m male who kept turning for those close passes in front of the cage. It was nice to see “Split Fin” come back for a visit, a large 4.2m female who we all know very well thanks to an old injury that has split the top of her dorsal fin. Our full breach in front of the cage came from a smaller shark, which we refer to as “Little Clampy”, who went for that one sneak attack on the bait line and wasn’t seen again for the rest of the day. This little shark is always jumpy and likes to surprise us, but Pieter our bait handler is getting very good at spotting him coming. Just goes to show it’s never a bad day with Marine Dynamics…
