Another successful shark diving day! The morning trip started off with rain but the skies soon cleared. Our biologist, Helen Pattullo, logged 9 individual white sharks along with the stingray, I saw 7 sharks and the stingray on trip 2. In general the sightings and activity levels are much higher than last week with some pretty large animals around. Well done to young Joe (3 years old!) who joined us on trip 2 and watched his dad get into the cage whilst calling out “don’t be scared dad!” Also well done to 9 year old Tian from Gauteng who achieved his dream, which was just to be on board his favourite boat in the world – Slashfin! Tian wants to have his own shark diving boat when he’s older and has spent his entire summer holidays cycling 7km to Kleinbaai harbour to watch the shark boats coming in and out, hoping to get on board Slashfin!
