Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 15.3 ‘C
Depth: 11.4m
Visibility: 2.5m
Number of Sharks: 10
Conditions: Sunny with a bit of swell.

Today boasted some of the best weather we have had in what feels like a very long time. The sharks were also quite active today and 10 different sharks are always a welcome sight. The water visibility has improved a bit and at this point it does seem as if the algal bloom is receding. We had quite a number of large males around the boat today and “Little Roundy” gave a spectacular leap right in front of the cage. It is always an added bonus to spot a whale on one of our shark trips, we were thus lucky to see a Southern Right Whale on route to the harbour after our dive. We were very fortunate to have the crème Della crème when it comes to researchers from National Geographic join us on a whale excursion today. All the info will be available on our various social media pages as well as our WebPages and blogs; DICT (Dyer Island Conservation Trust), DIC (Dyer Island Cruises) and our Face Book pages. What an adventure packed day full of spectacular shark and whale sightings and the added bonus of talking to some of the brightest minds in the world when it comes to environmental topics. Only in Gansbaai and only at Marine Dynamics…
