Another perfectly calm summers day with splendid shark and stingray action! We arrived at Jouberts Dam to silky waters with slightly overcast conditions, not a breath of wind. In no time, the first large 4 meter female arrived and we began diving immediately. Despite the warm water, which is usually algae rich this time of year, the water viz was quite good today making for some excellent views of both the Short-tailed Stingray and white sharks below surface. We finished both trips with a quick run up to Dyer Island to check the cape fur seal colony at Geyser rock out. The yearling pups are gaining their confidence with swimming and are playfully splashing in and out of the surf zone. The winter sharks will soon be arriving to take full advantage of these poor guys however! Today was also special because we had the return of a great crew member, Warren Titus, who joined us on board. Warren was a divemaster, deck hand and bait handler for Marine Dynamics from 2007 – 2012 so it was lovely to have him back with us as crew!
