Today was a very interesting day out at sea. We launched at 8 am in the morning from Kleinbaai harbor and went to Joubertsdam as no one has had any luck yet finding sharks at the Island and shark alley. We got on anchor a bit deeper than the other boats as the visibility was a bit better in the deeper waters but chances of finding sharks were a bit smaller. Unfortunately we only got once sighting so we decided to move to a shallower anchor. The visibility was a bit more limited here but not too bad. We soon got a sighting of a shark but it didn’t stick around the boat. We decided to move a second time to get on our third anchor and third time lucky, we started seeing plenty of sharks varying in size. Some of the sharks we saw today were very distinctive and we were quite familiar with some of them. One of the familiar sharks was little lumpy, a 3m female. She has grown quite a bit in size and not that little any more. Little lumpy is a very active shark showing off her breaches in front of the cage so that everyone could get some great shots. The sizes of the sharks varied from 2.4m to 4.3m and we ended up seeing 13 different sharks!
