It was an early start this morning, but it was definitely worth it, as we got to see a stunning sunrise over the bay, plus we did not have to wait long for the first shark to arrive, a lovely 3.5m female. She was entertaining us for a while before an even bigger shark arrived. The biggest shark we have seen during this trip was around 4.3m in length. Close to half way through the trip we also had a glimpse of a Short-tailed Stingray, which approached the decoy, but then decided to disappear into the deep again. Over all it was a great trip with jawesome sharks. We finished off by heading around the point into Gansbaai Harbour due to the low tides. The second trip was an exclusive for a honeymooning couple visiting from Mexico and left off where the first one finished, launching from Gansbaai Harbour and heading back around Danger Point and into the Shallows. On arrival we spotted a shark that seemed to be very interested in our anchor float, thankfully with our arrival it took more interest in us, leaving our distant float alone and coming to join the party in front of the cage! The activity for this trip was fantastic, with a constant flow of sharks and some truly impressive moves from some truly impressive sharks including a magnificent 4.0m+ female that had a knack for flinging her huge body effortlessly above the waters’ surface. The third and final trip of the day launched and we headed back into the Shallows where we had the entire bay to ourselves. Moments into stopping the boat we had two sharks ready to greet our guests and we saw a similar trip to our previous one, as shark after shark came into view, keeping up steady sightings of White sharks. Things did start to quiten towards the end of the trip, and whilst we may not have had a shark in front of us all the time the juvenile White sharks of the day, decided that this day must end with a bang, as they sped through the water making tight, close turns infront of the cage and numerous leaps completely out of the water.

A big Happy 13th Birthday to Ben who joined us on our third trip today, shark cage diving sure is an exciting way to celebrate any birthday! With such beautiful sightings all day it appeared that the sharks were in the mood to celebrate as well…
